Entrepreneur Jeff Bezos is the
founder and the CEO of Amazon.com and also the owner of The Washington Post.
One of the top richest people in
the world.
Jeff Bezos was born in 1964 to Jacklyn
Gise and Ted Jorgensen in New Mexico.
When Jeff was four years old his
mother again married a Cuban named Mike Bezos.
Bezos studied Computer science and
Electrical engineering in Princeton University.
After studies he worked in few
fields.
In 1990 he became the youngest
senior vice president in a investment firm called D. E Shaw.
Bezos choose to quit the job and
started an online book store searching towards online marketing success in
1994.
July 1995 Bezos opened Amazon. Com
after asking 300 friends to beta his site. They developed software in a garage.
Without any promotions Amazon. Com
sold books across The United States and 45 other foreign countries within 30
days. Sales reached $20,000 a week in two months of time.
In 1998 Jeff Bezos continued to
diversify Amazons' offerings with the scale of CDs and Videos, later clothes,
electronics, toys etc...
From 1995 to 2011 yearly sales
increase from $510,000 up to$ 17billion. By September 2018 Amazon was valued
more than $1 trillion.
After achieved by Apple few weeks
earlier.
But the company has been criticized
for its working conditions and grueling peace.
Bezos purchased The Washington Post
for $250 million in 2013.
Jeff started an aerospace company
which develops technologies for space travel in year 2000. It's named as Blue
Origin.
In 2017 Bezos revealed about the "Blue
Origin moon lander".
2019 NASA announced that the Blue
Origin is among the 13 companies selected to collaborate with the projects to
reach Mars and Moon.
In 2019 Forbes estimated that Jeff
Bezos net worth is about $110 million. He is in the list of top richest people
in the world both in 2018 and 2019. He has earned $81,840 salary at Amazon
every year since it started.
Bezos launched a Fund named “Bezos
Day One Fund" in 2018 which helps homeless people.
Jeff started his career from the
bottom. Now he is one of the best Businessman in the world. Apart from Amazon.
Com and his other businesses, people are wondering what kind of a part which
Bezos and his "Blue origin" will do when it comes to space travelling.
